AMAT UK are excited to offer a new opportunity for a Support Worker to join our dedicated team.
We believe every homeless adult deserves safe accommodation and the right support to rebuild their lives. At AMAT, we reduce homelessness by providing person-centred support, helping people identify their strengths and reclaim, rebuild, and reshape their future.
Many of the individuals we work with have experienced significant trauma, including adverse childhood experiences, homelessness itself, addiction, mental health challenges, and domestic abuse. Our work is about more than accommodation — it’s about walking alongside people as they rebuild their lives.
About the Role
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
- Rotational shifts between 8:30am – 9:00pm, up to 5 days over 7
- Minimum of one weekend in four, plus bank holidays (including Christmas and New Year) on a rota basis
As a Support Worker, you’ll empower an allocated group of residents to achieve their goals and move forward positively. This includes:
- Developing and delivering person-centred support plans
- Holding regular support meetings with service users
- Referring residents to key services and agencies
- Assisting with benefits, resettlement, and practical issues
- Keeping accurate and up-to-date case records
This role is varied, challenging, and deeply rewarding.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

- An excellent communicator, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour and difficult situations
- Experienced in working within the homelessness sector, particularly with assessments and support planning
- Flexible, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of a rota
A driving licence and knowledge of the Medway area are desirable but not essential.
