Benefits And Housing Needs Officer – Transfers Officer
We are seeking highly motivated, organised, compassionate and experienced officers to join our Additional Needs Temporary Accommodation Team. You must demonstrate empathy, compassion and patience while keeping records of every step of the clients journey to an alternative temporary accommodation.
This vital role involves managing a caseload of vulnerable clients, ensuring they are placed in suitable temporary accommodation and providing comprehensive support to help them navigate their housing journey.
You will be working with individuals, families and their advocates facing a range of complex needs in a fast paced environment and gathering information/evidence is vital to this role.
If you want to develop your career in Temporary Accommodation and want to understand the legal challenges, ombudsman guidance and good practice when supporting our residents then this is the role for you.
The role is Hybrid and you are required to be in the office twice a week and in some cases required to visit clients at their homes. You will be part of a small team and will be reporting to the Additional Needs Temporary Accommodation Manager.
Our Service
The Benefits & Homeless Prevention Service is a very busy service, working with a wide range of residents who need our support to deal with the complex challenges they face. It is also a great place to work, develop and learn.
At Hackney we have taken an innovative approach to delivering the service by combining Benefits and Homeless Prevention functions. This gives us an opportunity to work together to help residents through their housing challenges using a holistic approach.
