Key Responsibilities:
As a Homeless Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping homeless individuals regain stability and improve their quality of life. Your responsibilities will include:
Assessment and Planning: Conduct assessments of clients' needs and develop individualized support plans.
Basic Needs Assistance: Assist clients in accessing shelter, food, clothing, and hygiene facilities.
Emotional Support: Offer empathetic and non-judgmental emotional support to clients facing homelessness.
Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of clients to access essential services, benefits, and housing opportunities.
Referral Services: Connect clients to relevant community resources, such as healthcare, mental health services, and substance abuse treatment.
Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate assistance during crisis situations and help de-escalate conflicts.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in homeless support, social work, or a related field is a plus.
- Compassion and empathy for homeless individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
