The Myton Hospices is a much-loved and well supported charity on a transformative path, evolving how we develop our relationships with high value partners, supporters and our local community. This critical activity will enable us to provide exceptional specialist care and support for more people who have a life-limiting illness, from the point of diagnosis to end of life.
This newly created, pivotal role offers a career defining opportunity to drive strategies to secure strategic partnerships that have the potential to generate transformative income. As our Director of Strategic Relationships and Major Philanthropy, you will have scope to innovate and shape The Myton Hospices’ high value and high impact partnership engagement, driving change and advocacy as well as income.
About the role
You will lead a team of 8 fundraisers (3 direct reports), with plans to secure an additional £2 million over the next 3 years, through your focus on corporate, trusts and foundations, major donors, and legacies; areas which all have significant potential for growth.
Your role will require:
- Visionary, Strategic leadership to develop and deliver long term, sustainable strategies for philanthropy and pivotal relationships, securing significant voluntary income that will help Myton to sustainably achieve our vision to reach and support more people across Coventry and Warwickshire with life limiting illnesses
- Inspirational team development & leadership to grow an ambitious, collaborative and innovative directorate with the capabilities to develop increasing funding opportunities
- Broad cross-organisational engagement includingwith other directors to identify market trends, develop campaigns and initiatives and optimise opportunities to generate maximum long-term value from supporter partnerships.
About you
- An innovative change-agent with proven skills in developing high level fundraising and leading strategic projects
- A motivational leader who develops high performing teams, sets clear direction and strategic vision
- Core negotiating, influencing and long-term supporter relationship development and business prospect research skills
- Skilled in using, developing and implementing performance metrics and income analysis
