Housing Worker
Hours: 30 - 37 hours per week, flexible to be over 4-5 days
Following probation the role requires on-call for approx 6 weeks a year, for which extra payments are made.
Salary: £27,876 - £30,002 (pro-rata - salary dependent on skills, experience and knowledge)
Contract: Permanent
Base: Garden House Project, OX4 2ND and Projects across East Oxford
Our client, a Mental Health and Wellbeing Charity, has a vacancy for housing support and recovery worker based in Oxford city.
The Housing Support and Recovery Worker will provide flexible, proactive and assertive support, to residents of this organisation's housing projects, to promote recovery and independence within a positive risk management approach to adults with serious and enduring mental health issues.
About the Project:
This charity’s Transitional Housing Recovery Service is for people aged 18 - 65 who have severe and enduring mental health problems. The service is part of a pathway of housing services that promote recovery and independence within the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership (OMHP). The OMHP brings together Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Connection Floating Support, Response, Restore, Elmore Community Services and our client, to deliver integrated mental health support and services across the county.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment of mental health needs & risk
- Creation and management of appropriate strategies to manage risks for individuals and environment
- Providing proactive individual support planning and case management in conjunction with residents and external stakeholders
- Property and housing management including health and safety responsibilities, fire safety checks and arranging repairs to maintain a safe environment
- Record keeping and administration
- Interagency working and liaison
- Promotion of community interaction to improve physical and mental wellbeing
- Formulate and see through plans for residents to move on to more long-term resident accommodation within commissioned timeframes
Key Skills
- An understanding of the issues for people with mental health issues living in the community
- Experience of working in a housing or residential setting.
- Experience of working with individuals, enabling them to identify their own goals to support personal wellbeing and recovery, and the ability to support them in pursuing these.
