Housing & Homelessness
📍 Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) is a charitable community benefit society and registered provider of social housing that owns and manages more than 12,000 homes across the Rochdale area of Greater Manchester. It describes itself as the UK's first tenant and employee co-owned mutual housing society: both customers and colleagues can become members with a vote on how homes and services are run. Its registered office is the Unique Enterprise Centre on Belfield Road, Rochdale.
Accommodation and support services
RBH's core business is general needs social housing, alongside supported living and extra care schemes for older people, home ownership options and estate regeneration in neighbourhoods such as College Bank and Lower Falinge. It ran the borough's statutory Homelessness Service on behalf of Rochdale Borough Council from 2014, but that service returned to the council in April 2022, so RBH no longer operates homelessness assessment or temporary accommodation itself. Tenant support today focuses on money and benefits advice, domestic abuse support, anti-social behaviour case work, a community hub (The Strand) and a Local Pantry food scheme.
