Who inHope Are
inHope is a Bristol-based Christian charity with a 35-year legacy of supporting people who are homeless, hungry, struggling with addiction, or living with poor mental health. Starting from small premises in the St Paul's area of Bristol, it now operates from around 14 locations across central, southern and eastern Bristol, with a staff team of over 30 supported by hundreds of volunteers.
Services
- Spring of Hope, an emergency night shelter for women, and participation in the Bristol Churches Winter Night Shelter
- Hope into Action: Bristol, providing supported housing for people who are homeless
- The Wild Goose, offering hot meals, and the South and East Bristol Foodbank providing emergency food parcels
- The Life Course and other Life Recovery pathways, offering laundry, haircuts and showers, health and wellbeing sessions, agency-led drop-ins, life-skills sessions, and support and advocacy
- Practical provisions including clothing and toiletries for people in crisis
inHope is rooted in the Christian faith, describing its work as an expression of God's love for every person, and works in partnership with individuals, churches, community groups and companies across the city. It accepts everyone who comes through its doors and works with people over time as they are ready to make changes in their lives.
Working at inHope
Staff and volunteers work across its shelter, foodbank, hot meals and Hope into Action housing services, delivering frontline welfare and support alongside a large volunteer base. Roles include support and outreach workers, project and service leads, and administrative and fundraising posts, generally within an explicitly Christian ethos and working culture.
