Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to maintain cleanliness in a homeless shelter. The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas are kept tidy, safe, and welcoming for residents and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitise designated areas including offices, bedrooms, washrooms, communal spaces, and other facilities as required
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish surfaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness
Dispose of rubbish safely and efficiently in line with waste management procedures
Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and cleaning materials as needed
Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management
Follow health and safety regulations at all times during cleaning activities
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals responsibly, ensuring proper handling and storage

Skills

Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients
Customer service orientation with a friendly and professional attitude
Good organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently within allocated timeframes
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Fluency in English to understand instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 6 per week
