Women’s Project Worker (Part-time, 30 hrs/week)

Looking for a role where you can make a real difference?

It Takes A City (ITAC) is working with some the most vulnerable women in the city through the work of the Haven.

The Haven is a unique project providing overnight respite and support in the centre of Cambridge to women who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed. This is a drop-in service, and you will be working alongside a second member of staff at all times; either an experienced support worker or trained security guard with volunteers supporting the project.

In addition to the overnight services which provide a hot meal, a shower and laundry facilities plus access to clothing and toiletries, the Haven will be starting a daytime programme in the Autumn providing a programme of organised activities, including art and crafts workshops, podcasting, and visits to places in the city such as the Botanical gardens and museums. If you have interests or skills that could be built into this programme, then do mention in your application.

In addition to the Haven, ITAC delivers a variety of services to those who have experienced homelessness in Cambridge. ITAC also facilitates the Cambridge Homelessness Charter, which is working to make systemic change in the city. This year ITAC is organising the Women’s Homelessness Census in the city, a vital activity to connect with the many women who are 'hidden homeless'.

You will be part of a small but experienced support team that has established an excellent reputation for delivering trauma-informed services.

If you would like an informal chat about the role, please contact us on info@itac.org.uk giving your availability for a phone call.

Applications close on 9 September. Interviews will take place on Wed, 16 September

To apply, please send CV and cover letter to info@itac.org.uk.
