Second Step seeks a Mental Health Crisis Worker for their Crisis Safe Space service in Sedgemoor. The role involves supporting individuals experiencing acute emotional distress in a safe, welcoming environment during evening hours. Location: Bridgwater and Wells CSS office (The Old Glass House, South Street, Wells BA5). Contract: Permanent. Hours: 16.5 weekly hours across three evening shifts (5.5 hours each). Salary: £27,098 pro-rata annually (£12,084.24 pro-rata). Shift schedule: Saturday, Monday, and Wednesday from 5:30pm to 11:00pm, split between Bridgwater and Wells locations. Travel expenses between sites are reimbursed per policy. Workers will provide direct support to people in emotional distress within the Crisis Safe Space, which operates seven nights weekly. They collaborate with Open Mental Health partners to connect individuals with additional resources as needed. Candidates should demonstrate experience supporting individuals with complex needs including mental health concerns, strong communication abilities, and rapport-building skills.
