Survivor Voice Coordinator – Changing Lives, Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough Safe Accommodation Service is delivered by Changing Lives, providing a coordinated, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused response to those who are fleeing domestic abuse. This includes adult victims and survivors, their children and young people.

As part of our safe accommodation model, we provide safe and secure refuge accommodation for women and children. Alongside the refuge, the model also provides dispersed accommodation for individuals and families who may not be able to access traditional mainstream refuge or are ready for move on from refuge but require support during the transition into independent living.

The Victim Voice Coordinator will lead on developing meaningful engagement opportunities for individuals accessing our accommodation and support services, ensuring that their voices, experiences, and perspectives influence service delivery, development, and wider system change.

The postholder will build trusted relationships with survivors, create safe and accessible opportunities for participation, and champion survivor-led approaches across the service. They will gather, analyse, and present feedback from individuals who have experienced domestic abuse and other forms of violence against women and girls, ensuring that learning is translated into improvements in practice, policy, and service provision.

The role will also represent the organisation within the Middlesbrough Survivors Panel, supporting individuals to participate safely and confidently in external engagement opportunities and ensuring survivor voices contribute to local and regional developments.
