About the role

As part of the role you’ll lead a small team of Resettlement & Rapid Reconnection Workers and a PRS Liaison Worker, reporting to the Head of Prevention & Move On. The team works  a operational service, helping people sleeping rough or living in our supported accommodation move quickly into safe, sustainable homes – through rapid resettlement, reconnection and our Private Rented Sector pathway. You’ll work closely with partners across Southend City Council, outreach services, health providers and local landlords, as part of HARP’s wider push to support people earlier and more practically, including through our new Prevention Hub on Southend High Street.

In this role, we’re looking for someone with strong leadership experience in person-centred, trauma-informed services, and a good understanding of homelessness legislation, welfare benefits and landlord/tenant law. You’ll have experience managing or supervising staff within housing or support services, and a track record in case management, reconnection practice or resettlement work. You should be an excellent communicator who can manage conflict, maintain professional boundaries and build confident relationships with residents, colleagues and partner agencies. You’ll be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and confident assessing and managing risk, including safeguarding concerns. Above all, we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and who leads with the same patience, honesty and kindness we ask of the whole team. Experience of partnership working with statutory and voluntary sector agencies is essential. A qualification in Housing, Health & Social Care or a related field, lived experience of homelessness, or a full UK driving licence would all be an advantage, though none are required.

Interviews will take place on the 7th October 2026
