About Our Team
You’ll join the Dovestones Gardens team, working alongside care colleagues and other professionals to provide a joined-up approach to people’s health, care and wellbeing. The team is committed to helping every person feel safe, valued and supported to maintain their choice, dignity, individuality and independence.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a caring and compassionate Care Assistant to support the delivery of excellent care at Dovestones Gardens. You’ll provide person-centred support in line with individual care plans, helping people with daily routines, personal care, nutrition and hydration, emotional wellbeing, meaningful activities and access to the community.
You’ll build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries, work with families and other professionals, keep accurate care records and act promptly when someone’s needs change. Above all, you’ll help the people we support feel safe, respected and able to live their best life.

What We’re Looking For
We believe in recruiting for potential as well as experience. Our ideal candidate will have:
Essential:
- Willingness to complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of starting.
- Commitment to enrol for a QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care within one year of service.
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals or in a care or support setting, whether formal or informal.
- Experience following care plans and instructions.
- Ability to organise effectively, prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Flexibility in working hours and approach.
- An understanding of vulnerable people’s needs and how to support them sensitively.
- A caring, compassionate nature and a drive to help people live their best life.
Desirable:
- An existing Care Certificate.
- QCF/NVQ Level 2 or above in Health & Social Care.
- Relevant training in manual handling, COSHH or safeguarding.
- Experience in a regulated care environment.
- Experience supporting older adults or individuals with complex needs.
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and person-centred care principles.
- An understanding of confidentiality and data protection in a care setting.
