We are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join our fantastic team atGolau Caredig, Barry.
This role is a permanent position working 30 hours per week, across 4 days. The shifts will be worked between Mondays and Fridays with very limited weekend working.
What you'll do
You will assist in the provision of a full range of support services to older persons with support needs - adults with mental health issues and those with a physical disability. You will work as part of a team to provide flexible and targeted housing related support service to customers who live both in Golau Caredig and the community, supporting them to maintain their accommodation and achieve independent living.
This will include assisting social inclusion, support to manage their tenancies/accommodation; budgeting; accessing education; training and employment; increasing awareness of their community and improve skills to live independently.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role you will be capable of organising own workload and prioritising between various competing tasks and will have experience of working directly with people with support needs and/or liaison with voluntary and statutory agencies. A qualification in Social Care or related discipline is desirable. You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage your time. You will have the ability to remain calm in a changing environment and be able to work flexibly when required.
UK Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
