MINISTER OF RELIGION
POST: PASTOR IN CHARGE OF CHURCH GROWTH/ASSISTANT PARISH PASTOR

JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES:
1. To preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by continually striving to develop preaching and teaching methods that inspire and challenge spiritual growth of the Parishioners.
2. To develop a growth strategy that will be attractive to the younger generation and help the church membership to increase drastically.
3. To provide pastoral leadership, mentoring and discipleship for all members of the church.
4. To facilitate church planting and support the pastor in charge of mission outreaches in line with the cardinal objectives of RCCG.
5. To organise evangelism, teaching Bible classes, counselling and welfare support to members of the congregation.
6. To conduct child christening, dedication and consecration and baptisms services.
7. To visit and encourage people at the orphanages, homeless shelters, aged or elderly homes. To work with the benevolence department in the provision of hampers and gifts during festive periods (Easter, Children’s day, Christmas, etc.).
8. To minister to those in crises (i.e. death, sickness, trauma, or other significant events where direct pastoral care is required to demonstrate warmth, openness, and sensitivity to the needs of those involved).
9. To maintain a healthy family relationship, strengthen self through personal devotions, prayers, Bible study etc.
10. Assist the Parish Pastor in collaboration with other local religious bodies, in organising joint outreaches and periodic prayers meeting both for the Church and the Nation.
11. Assisting the Parish Pastor in other responsibilities when required.
LOCATION - RCCG OPEN HEAVENS SANCTUARY, 228A – 234A HEATHWAY, DAGENHAM, ESSEX, RM10 8QS.
SALARY/WAGES - £23,000.00 per annum
DURATION – Permanent
HOURS – 30 Hours weekly
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must be a graduate in THEOLOGY from THE REDEEMED CHRISTIAN BIBLE COLLEGE or any of its SATELITE CAMPUSES
2. Must have at least HND or its equivalents.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. The post-holder Must be a Born-Again Christian who subscribes to the Tenets of faith of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
2. Must have been a member of The Redeemed Christian Church of God for at least 12 years and must have RCCG worker’s certificate of recognition, RCCG School of Discipleship certificate.
3. Must have been a Parish Pastor or in Pastoral support work with The Redeemed Christian Church of God for at least eight (8) years with CERTIFICATE OF STEWARDSHIP as proof. (A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION WILL BE REQUIRED FROM SENIOR PASTORS)
4. Must have Strong people skills and leadership abilities
5. Must be able to demonstrate his love for Jesus with the desire to see lives and communities changed by the Gospel.
6. Ability to handle sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality and trust.
7. Must be fluent in English language, to communicate effectively with the church and the community.
8. Ability to easily use Microsoft office and have administrative and people skills.
