Operations Manager (Children and Young People)
Location: Various Location across South London and Surrey. (Head Office based in Croydon)

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience (Bonuses of up to £3k per annum)
Caridon Young Living is a Ofsted Regulated young person’s 24 hour supported housing provider in South London and Surrey. Many of the young people living with us are looked after children under social care.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to manage the development and delivery of housing services for young adults in need of supported accommodation and floating Support.
The age range of the young people is 16-19 year olds.
You will be working for an incredible organisation, who provide supported housing accommodation for people who looked after children or care leavers.
The young people require Intensive support in managing and maintaining a tenancy and gaining independent living skills. Residents may have complex and additional support needs to include but not limited to those with addictions, mental health issues, learning difficulties and offending behaviour.
As the Operations Manager you will have oversite of 4 services and lead a team of x4 Team Leaders and staff. You will also act as the safeguarding lead for the organisation.
You will keep in regular contact with Team Leader, liaise with external agencies, attend meetings, ensure all properties are properly maintained, dealing with repairs, supporting the staff to assist young people to maintain their tenancy, dealing with tenant and neighbour nuisance issues alongside contributing to the growth of the organisation.
Also, the Operations Manager will be expected to register with Ofsted as the Registered Manger for the services in line with new national standards.
The successful candidate must hold relevant experience in leading and developing a team in a young persons supported housing field.
This role is Monday to Friday 9am-5pm however, you must be flexible to meet the needs of the service and some evening and weekend work may be required.
You will also be required to be a part of an on-call rota which you are paid additionally for.
You must hold a full UK driving licence. A company car can be provided if needed.

- Oversee the line management of a Deputy Operations Manager and Team Leaders.
- Be the Safeguarding Lead for the services.

Do You:
- Have a minimum Level 5 NVQ in Management with young people or equivalent
- Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation of the Childrens Act and Ofsted National standards in supported accommodation.
- Have experience in working within the relevant health and social care setting
- Have exceptional leadership and management skills Minimum 5 years' experience working in children's setting.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing at a senior level. Understanding and knowledge of Safeguarding.
- Commitment to enhancing knowledge in current legislation around child protection and safeguarding.
- Detailed knowledge of outcomes‐based practice as referred to in Children's Home Quality regulations 2015.
- Knowledge of Children's Rights e.g. advocacy and internal complaints procedure.
- The Children Act, Human rights Act, Care leaving guidance, Ofsted benchmarking
- Have experience working with vulnerable children, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Conditions and Challenging Behaviour
- Have at least five years management experience.

General Responsibilities:
- Attending young people’s meetings and contributing to them
- Ensure managers and staff are complaint with their duties and responsibilities. Manage the floating support service and develop and grow this part of the business.
- Carry out HR processes and disciplinary where needed.
- Ensure all safe meet the safer recruitment policy.
- Receiving training appropriate to the role and maintaining an up to date training profile
- Responsibility for the accurate maintenance of financial records appropriate to the duties of the post
- Responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of self and colleagues in accordance with the requirements of the organisational Health and Safety Policies
- Maintaining the upkeep of the houses through general cleaning of communal areas.
- Oversee the day to day running of all the services and contribute to the growth of the organisation.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management (working with young people) or equivalent.
Special Conditions
This post requires the holder to work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, with some weekend and evening work as required.
The post holder also is required to work weekends as part of a rota and Bank Holidays when required.
Sleeping duties are also required for which an additional payment is made.
In accordance with the guidelines on Health and Safety, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and reporting any concerns to the Director.
To undertake such other duties appropriate to the grade of the post and the needs of the Home such as decorating, gardening in order to develop and maintain service delivery.
This post requires the holder to have an Enhanced Disclosure & Baring Service check at all times Changes to personal circumstances which may affect you remaining in the role.
The post holder will be on call for the unit to assist to any emergencies or staff cover, the post holder will be expected to attend the unit if required during unsociable hours.
Full driving licence needed for the role.
