The Community Connections Officer is a creative role working with Locality Managers and their teams to help the people we support connect their communities in the way that they choose.
The Community Connections Officer will signpost, broker or develop opportunities for inclusion, friendship, volunteering, vocation and wellbeing.
The successful candidate needs to live in South Wales.
Interviews will take place on the 8th November via Microsoft teams.
About the role
Your main duties will include:
- To identify and or develop a range of local volunteering, occupational and enterprise opportunities for people who have learning disabilities and/or autism
- ·To work with the people, we support to identify or co-produce a range of social, networking and occupational opportunities, and opportunities for informal support.
- ·To find and develop ways for people we support, families and colleagues to give their time to support local communities, the third sector and the environment.
- ·Collect evidence of social impact activities and promote the value of these to people we support, local organisations, commissioners and funders.
About you
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism
- Experience of successfully developing and delivering projects.
- Knowledge of the voluntary sector and volunteering best practice
- Possess excellent planning and organisational skills
