Bank Support Worker

Caritas Diocese of Salford is excited to be opening a new supported accommodation project for those who are homeless in Manchester. The new accommodation at Caritas House will offer a pathway out of homelessness for single men with low support needs and it will provide high-quality, single-room accommodation with 24-hour staffing for 19 men. Morning Star Hostel in Hulme, also provides high quality supported accommodation to 20 single men with low support needs and this hostel is also staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Therefore, we are looking to recruit Bank Support Workers to work a variety of shifts, including overnight, to ensure a smooth service for our new accommodation and Morning Star Hostel.

You will provide a friendly and professional welcome to residents coming in and out of the building, as well as spending time with residents when they are in communal areas. You will ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort in the building to create a welcoming atmosphere, as well as taking pride in the appearance of the building and facilities.

You will assist in the smooth running of the accommodation/hostel such as maintaining a safe environment, monitoring CCTV, answering telephone calls and undertaking health and safety checks. You will also log information for the day staff and provide a detailed handover. Additionally, you will maintain the security of the building and report any incidents or accidents to on call staff/emergency services. Residents will be supported by signposting them to support services, respond to any need for first aid, as well as abiding by service procedures and guidance.

Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential.
