St. George’s Crypt is a Christian charity based in Leeds, dedicated to providing shelter, support, and hope to the homeless, vulnerable, and those suffering from addiction. Job Purpose:
As a Digital Marketing Assistant at St. George’s Crypt, you will play a crucial role in implementing our marketing strategy to promote the charity’s vision across Leeds. You will be responsible for managing and executing a wide range of digital marketing activities that increase brand visibility, drive engagement, and attract support from the community. This role involves working closely with the content and design teams to develop compelling content, optimise web presence, and build relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Manage a content calendar tailored to target audiences across multiple platforms such as websites, blogs, and social media.
Ø Research, write, and edit content that reflects in-depth knowledge of the charity’s objectives.
Ø Collaborate with the content creator and designer to develop engaging stories for social media platforms, websites, and fundraising materials.
Ø Utilise SEO best practices to enhance the visibility of content in search engine results.
o Implement SEO strategies, including keyword planning, to improve the website's search engine ranking and drive organic traffic.
o Recommend changes to website architecture, content, and linking to enhance SEO performance.
Ø Interview experts, staff, clients, supporters, and others involved in campaigns to create authentic and compelling content.
Ø Recommend changes to website architecture and content to enhance performance.
Campaign Development and Execution
Ø Work with the broader marketing and fundraising team to develop and deliver integrated campaigns promoting the charity’s mission and values.
Ø Work with and support the intern/marketing assistant in developing skills across social media management and data analytics.
Ø Support the Marketing team in creating email marketing campaigns including press releases that effectively communicate with donors, supporters, and stakeholders.
Ø Maintain good working relationships with clients, staff, and partners to ensure successful campaigns and partnerships.
Ø Keep up to date with content trends, consumer preferences, and advancements in technology to continually improve content strategies.
Collaboration and Communication
Ø Collaborate with design and content colleagues/teams over content optimisation, drawing on user intent research to inform content strategies.
Ø Maintain good working relationships with clients, affiliate networks, and partners to ensure successful campaigns and partnerships.
Skills and Qualifications
Ø Demonstrable experience in digital marketing, content creation, SEO, and social media.
Ø Evidence of a strong personal online profile (e.g., a blog, website, or social media presence).
Ø Understands social media platforms and use them to distribute content.
Ø An understanding of storytelling to build brand awareness and recognition.
Ø Excellent written communication skills for producing high-quality content tailored to different audiences.
Ø An understanding of content management systems (CMS) and tools such as Google Analytics and Web Analytics.
Essential Job Specific:

Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Ø Enforcing the company’s safeguarding policy.

Ø Continually working with the families of residents and service users, sharing information and contributing to plans if a concern is investigated.
Ø Ensuring that all staff having contact with children, vulnerable adults and/or their families have received appropriate training on safeguarding issues.
Ø To Understand and implement working practices set by the Safeguarding Adults and Children Board.
Ø To understand and implement working standards set by the domestic violence and abuse quality mark documentation.
Charity Wide Responsibilities:
Ø Applying an attitude towards forgiveness and justice informed by biblical and Christian theological principles in dealing with all staff, volunteers, and clients.
Ø Recognising the holistic needs of all service users and in accordance with the Trust Deed affirm the spiritual needs of clients in their situations and either respond directly or refer as appropriate.
Ø As an expression of their Christian faith and commitment, it is hoped that all our employees are willing to be involved in the activities of the churches and organisations that support the work.
Ø Due to the nature of the role and the workplace, the post holder must be over 18 years of age.
Ø Attend training courses and conferences in order to maintain personal development as agreed with the Line Manager.
