Contract: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £60,000-71,400 per annum

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is seeking a new Head of Policy and Public Affairs in London. In this role you will lead and manage Centrepoint’s work to achieve the influencing goals of the organisational strategy through pushing for change in local, regional and national policies. You will use your extensive specialist expertise to provide strategic insight and build effective relationships with policymakers.
What you’ll be doing…
- Develop and oversee the implementation of an effective policy and public affairs strategy to achieve the influencing goals of Centrepoint’s organisational strategy.
- Oversee the production of robust research and the delivery of policy events.
- Oversee the development of responses to key government and policy influencer consultations
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians and civil servants.
- Represent the charity at a senior level in the policy environment and act as a spokesperson including with the media.
As the ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Extensive knowledge of Westminster and Government procedures
- Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting and analysing public policy, parliamentary processes to produce meaningful information that will inform business decisions
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels
- Strong people management skills, leading and coaching others to succeed and setting clear expectations
