The Gateway provides short-term supported accommodation for single people over 18 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Supported Housing Officer role has two clear purposes – the delivery of intensive housing management and delivery of person-centred support.
Position: Supported Housing Officer
Salary: £36,149
Work Pattern: Full Time, 37 hours per week, 8.00am-8.00pm on a rota basis
Location: Scheme Based, The Gateway, Hillfields, Coventry, CV1 5TU
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with residents to develop financial, life and tenancy skills, increase resilience and confidence, and promote independence
- Prevent homelessness, sustain accommodation, and support residents in achieving positive move-on opportunities into independent accommodation to improve their life chances and build a foundation for life
- Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build positive professional relationships with residents and partner agencies
- Work collaboratively to provide holistic support and promote resident engagement and wellbeing
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience of working with vulnerable adults in a community setting or supported housing.
- Have previous experience in Housing Management and Support
- CIH Level 3 or willingness to undertake qualification
- Empathetic, positive, optimistic and solutions-focused in everything you do even in the face of challenges, and you will believe passionately in the social value derived from delivering outstanding services to Citizen customers and colleagues.
