We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Options Manager to lead our Housing Options service, fulfilling statutory homelessness duties on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
This is a pivotal role where you’ll ensure the effective prevention, assessment, and relief of homelessness, while driving continuous improvement and leading a dynamic, customer-focused team.
Provide housing and homelessness advice to a diverse range of customers, including those with complex needs and vulnerabilities.
Oversee complex cases, ensuring timely and effective resolutions, including arranging emergency accommodation when required.
Lead strategies to prevent homelessness through early intervention and strong partnership working.
Manage the delivery of the homelessness contract, meeting all statutory obligations and performance targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Bromsgrove District Council, partner agencies, and support services, representing bdht at local and national forums.
We’re looking for a housing professional who is:
Experienced in a customer-facing role with a solid understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and related legislation.
Knowledgeable about safeguarding and supporting vulnerable customers, with a commitment to equality and diversity.
Skilled in communication and negotiation, able to manage complex cases and make sound decisions under pressure.
Experienced in partnership working and confident in building collaborative relationships.
Leadership experience in housing options or homelessness services would be an advantage.
