What's involved with this role: Job Title: Homelessness Project Workers Ref number: Haringey RQ1620028 DBS required for this roleWhat's involved with this role: Supporting individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This includes assessing housing needs, developing personalised support plans, signposting to specialist services, and helping clients secure stable accommodation. The role also involves liaising with landlords, local authorities, and support agencies to prevent repeat homelessness and promote long-term independence.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in housing, social care, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of homelessness legislation and safeguarding responsibilities.
Skills & Experience required:
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally within homelessness, housing, or support services.
- Strong case management skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build trust with clients and work collaboratively with partner agencies.
- IT literacy, including use of case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out initial assessments and identify risks, support needs, and housing options.
- Develop and deliver individual support plans tailored to client needs.
- Provide advocacy and practical support to access housing, benefits, and health services.
- Monitor progress, review plans, and adjust support as required.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate case notes and contribute to service reporting.
- Work effectively within a team and with external partners to achieve positive outcomes.
