ASE Recruitment are specialist recruiters in the social housing and social care sectors providing temporary staffing to work within a variety of 24 hour supported accommodation services and floating support services for Housing Associations and Charities across the Northwest, Midlands, and Derbyshire.  
We’re looking for 
a Homeless Referal and allocations officer to join our team to work with a leading housing association in the Stoke on Trent Area. The main purpose of this role is to assess applicants applying to be housed as part of the destination home initiative. This involves providing supported accommodation to people who have been or currently rough sleeping/homeless, so they develop the skills needed to move on into alternative supported housing, independent living/permanent housing via a person-centred support package that is tailor made to suit the needs of everyone accessing the service. The service supports individuals with complex needs to include Mental Health, Substance Misuse, Offending History and Refugee/Asylum seekers.
Hours: 37.5Contract: Temp to Perm Rate: 13p/hAn immediate start can be offered subject to employment and DBS checks. 
About you  - Experience of managing referrals to a service, that includes risk assessment completion and liaison with partners to ensure a comprehensive assessment for placement is completed
- A flexible, resilient, thoughtful, and therapeutic approach to working with people. Including an awareness of issues relating to vulnerable individuals and those that have faced multiple disadvantages;
- Experience in and asset based approach to help others understand their goals and aspirations
- Skills in recording and reporting case notes via an online Customer Relationship Management system;
- Good networking a communication skills
- Experience of working within safeguarding policies and procedures and of identifying, monitoring, and reporting safeguarding concerns;
Preferred Requirements - Previous experience within a tenancy sustainment role or position within a supported housing environment
- Experience of working with vulnerable or challenging adults
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently using own initiative.
- The ability to manage incidents and undertake lone working.
