We are hiring Maternity Cover for an In-House Content Writer and Editor.The position is for 12 months maternity cover and sits within the International Headquarters Communications Team in the Programme Resources Department.Position: VAC0142 Content Writer and EditorLocation: London/HybridHours: Full-time, 35 hours per weekSalary: £38,634.96 per annumContract: Maternity CoverBenefits: Contributory pension scheme; generous travel to work allowance; 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays per annum; café discount.Closing Date: 22nd October 2025, Please note that this role may close sooner than advertised.About the RoleAs Content Writer and Editor you promote the work and mission of the charity through digital and printed content production, including the editorship of All the World online magazine.The In-House Content Writer and Editor (Maternity Cover) will be responsible for:Research and procurement of stories that promote the organisations mission and ministry idealsWrite printed and digital content for publication on social media, web and internal platforms and printed worksAs Editor of All the World online magazine, the planning and commissioning of relevant content to be published a minimum of three times per week and that informs, inspires, nurtures and challenges readers about the life and work of the global charity. and impact of the magazineDraft additional content such as, but not limited to, International News Bulletins; update reports in a timely manner for website publication and social media platformsCommunicate efficiently with stakeholders and overseas colleaguesEdit and proof documents as necessaryTravel internationally as and when requiredAttend relevant meetings as and when requiredAbout YouThe successful candidate will:Have a degree in English, journalism or an equivalent related fieldDemonstrate significant experience as an in-house write and editor at mid-seniority levelBe willing to adhere to in-house writing style and branding guidelinesHave excellent written and spoken English, as well as a professional presentationHave significant experience in writing and distributing news stories, sometimes under time constraintsBe proficient working in a Microsoft 365 (Word, Teams, etc) environmentDemonstrate well-developed inter-personal, organisational and time management skillsBe confident in recommending new concepts for communication methodsShare empathy and a willingness to advance the mission, values and objectives of charityBe a team player who demonstrates camaraderie and respect for colleagues within a multifaceted teamBe able to manage simultaneous projects and work to tight deadlines, and prioritise workParticipate in the 24-hour International Headquarters crisis communications rotaBe able to work out of hours when required.Be passionate about communicating the Christian faith via digital and traditional media.Applicants must be in sympathy with the aims and objectives of a Christian faith-based organisation.
