About The Role
This is a Housing First Co-ordinator role where you will deliver intensive support to people who are street homeless with the goal to move them into a tenancy and empower them to live independently. You will be responsible for carrying out housing and support assessments whilst working closely with individuals to ensure resettlement and that the right support is provided.
As a Housing First Co-ordinator you will provide a frontline service that entails hardcore groundwork with people sleeping rough in the Monmouthshire area. You will be working closely with these individuals to get them off the streets, into a tenancy and empowering them to live independently and maintain that tenancy. You will also work with an experienced, resilient, and trusting team who support each other and are passionate about their work.
Day To Day Duties
- Managing your own caseload
- Engaging and interacting with the people we support to establish goals to work towards
- Carrying out housing and support assessments
- Providing advice on finances, health, welfare benefits, housing options and tenancy management skills
- Working with external agencies and signposting the people we support to the appropriate services suited to their needs, specifically treatment and mental health services
Skills and Experience Needed (please demonstrate these in your application form)
- Relevant work experience
- Experience of the specialism in the relevant area of homelessness and complex needs
- Ability to lone work and part of the team
- Ability to deal with conflict and challenging behaviour
- Car owner with current driving licence
