Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Strategy and Change Manager to join our Strategy and Change Team based in London.
About us
We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.
Together with our partners, we support over 15,000 young people each year.
About the role
The Strategy and Change Manager is responsible for ensuring that Centrepoint’s strategy and OKR framework are clearly communicated and effectively implemented across the organisation, working closely with senior leaders to keep colleagues informed and engaged. The role involves leading the timely delivery and stakeholder engagement of Centrepoint’s AI Strategy project, driving the transition to multiyear planning and budgeting, and conducting horizon scanning and research to inform future strategic directions, all with the aim of promoting organisational understanding and commitment to strategic priorities.
Hybrid Working
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model. The requirement is a minimum of 50% of your working week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly.
About you
- Effective communicator with a natural ability to facilitate open and honest conversations.
- Decisive and strategic thinker with a can-do attitude.
- Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on young people.
- Flexible, adept at adapting to changing needs.
- Engaging, committed to self-development through training and continuous learning.
- Proactive, always seeking creative ways of working.
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll collaborate closely with directors and senior leaders to develop and implement a clear, actionable plan for transitioning to multiyear organisational planning and budgeting, ensuring buy-in at all levels. Facilitating staff consultation and driving understanding of the new approach, you’ll help embed these practices across the organisation.
- You’ll research, document, and share key emerging trends and insights in areas such as housing, the charity sector, digital innovation, fundraising, and international practice. Using evidence gathered internally and externally, you’ll help shape Centrepoint’s strategic direction and inform our next phase of priorities.
- You’ll provide business support by offering timely advice and guidance to colleagues involved in project and change activities. Your expertise will boost colleagues’ confidence and capability, resulting in smoother project delivery and reduced issues.
- You’ll build effective relationships across the organisation—including with the Senior Executive Team—to positively influence stakeholders and support the successful delivery of change initiatives. Your strong communication skills will be key to achieving positive engagement and feedback.
Ideally you will have change and project management experience and preferably a project management qualification, in addition to confidence in delivering the points above.
Why join Centrepoint?
In return for your efforts, you’ll receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and a host of staff benefits including:
- 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days
- Healthcare cash plan (Cover the costs of a wide range of medical treatment including Dental, Optical, Complementary and Alternative therapies).
- Private Medical insurance
- Income protection
- Employer pension contributions of 5%
- Access to Cycle 2 Work loan scheme
- An interest-free travel loan
