Join the Board at Portsmouth Rotary Housing Association
Are you a legal professional looking to make a real difference in your community? Portsmouth Rotary Housing Association (PRHA) is seeking a new Board Member with a background in law to help shape the future of our highly respected, not-for-profit housing organisation.
Founded in 1969, PRHA provides high-quality homes for people over the age of 55 and has earned a reputation for excellent service - our resident satisfaction scores have consistently exceeded 96% since 2018.
We are corporate trustees for Paddon Memorial Charities and manage services for Portsmouth and District Friendly Society Homes, both regulated by the Charity Commission.
We currently own and manage 195 homes across the three organisations, with a combined turnover of over £1.3 million.
We are proud to be an upper-quartile performing housing association, and our strategic plan focuses on further enhancing our properties and exploring opportunities to remodel for future needs.
About the Role
We are looking for someone with:
A strong legal background and the ability to bring this expertise to Board discussions. A good understanding of corporate governance. Insight into the challenges and opportunities within the social housing sector. Strategic thinking, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach. This is an exciting time to join PRHA, as we look ahead to new projects and future growth, always grounded in our mission to provide safe, comfortable homes for people in later life.
Commitment and Remuneration
This is currently a voluntary position; however, from 1st January 2026, the role will become remunerated. The Board meets quarterly, and members are also expected to attend our AGM, strategic away day, and occasional resident engagement events.
