About the role
The Bus Shelter Dorset is recruiting an experienced, dedicated Support Worker to join our Next Stop team. Primarily to work as an independent Support Worker offering advice, support and guidance to guests who have moved on from the Bus Shelter into Next Stop properties in the community or into the five brand new micro-flats adjacent to The Bus Shelter. To act as an advocate for those clients and liaising with landlords, supporting agencies or utility suppliers as and when necessary.
At times undertake support staff duties at The Bus Shelter. When on duty taking day-to-day responsibility for the effective running of The Bus Shelter. This will include maintaining a safe and positive environment in which hope and support is delivered to guests in order to empower them to come off the streets, re-build their lives, and wherever possible to move on into homes and employment.

The Bus Shelter Dorset offers rough sleepers or those at risk of homelessness a safe place to live with access to a supportive community environment and 24 hour high support tailored to meet their individual needs. In 2022 we were awarded the “Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service”.
In April 2025 our service is expanding to include 5 brand new micro flats adjacent to our current site.
