Who Your Housing Group are

Your Housing Group (YHG) is a registered social landlord providing affordable homes across the North of England. It owns and manages more than 29,000 properties in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Staffordshire and Yorkshire, and is headquartered at Youggle House in Warrington (WA3 7QH), a three-floor collaboration and wellbeing hub for staff. Its stated vision is that, through its passion for housing, more people should have a safe place to call home, and its values are to be honest and reliable, caring, and respectful and fair.

Homes and support services

YHG lets homes at social and affordable rents and also offers shared ownership, outright sale, private rent and student and key-worker accommodation. Two parts of the business are directly relevant to a homelessness and supported-housing jobs board. The first is its supported housing for young people: four purpose-built foyers for 16 to 25 year olds who need a secure home while they move into education, training or work. These are Verve Place in Warrington, Bridge Foyer in Chester, Lock 20 in Wigan (a new build with 38 flats) and Ravenhead Foyer in St Helens, each housing roughly 30 to 40 residents on a learning contract with communal lounges, learning spaces, IT suites and gardens. The group describes running homelessness services and foyers as part of its offer. The second is Retirement Living: schemes for people aged 55 and over with on-site scheme managers, services assistants and activities co-ordinators who help residents live independently, for example at Willowmere in Middlewich, Reeves Court and Brunswick Gardens in Sheffield.

Where they work and who they support

The group's homes are spread across the North West and Yorkshire, with major concentrations around Warrington, Wigan, St Helens, Chester, Merseyside, Sheffield and Staffordshire. Customers include general-needs tenants and leaseholders, older people in retirement schemes, and young people at risk of homelessness in the foyers.

In its most recent staff survey 82 per cent of colleagues rated the culture as positive and inclusive and 83 per cent reported a good work-life balance; more than 350 colleagues work mainly from home.
