Housing & Homelessness

📍 London, Greater London

Verified

Wytham Hall is a homelessness charity based in Maida Vale, North Westminster, London, providing supported accommodation for homeless individuals, including many long-term rough sleepers, to help them transition toward stable, independent living. The charity was founded by David El Kabir MBE, who also founded the Great Chapel Street Medical Centre for homeless people, and who passed away in February 2025 at the age of 98.

What we do

Wytham Hall provides accommodation and support to 25 residents across four buildings, one of which is divided into two independent parts, in a 24-hour staffed environment. Residents are typically people who are ready to move on from round-the-clock staffed settings but are not yet ready for fully independent living. Regular keyworking sessions support each resident's progress, and an in-house counselling service, relaunched in January 2025, offers tailored, open-ended support. A programme of social and community activities helps residents build peer relationships and avoid isolation.

Prospective residents are accepted through a referrals process, and the charity's step-down model is designed to bridge the gap between intensive supported accommodation and living independently in the community.

Who we support

Wytham Hall supports homeless adults, particularly long-term rough sleepers, who are ready to move toward independent living in London.
