UnityMK (registered charity no. 1149480) began life as the Winter Night Shelter Milton Keynes and rebranded to UnityMK in November 2023, guided by a vision of ending homelessness in the city. The charity's mission is to break the cycle of homelessness by providing pathways of support that help people feel valued and connected, find a home, and thrive.

What we do

Each winter, from late November to the end of March, UnityMK runs Winter Night Shelters providing emergency beds for people sleeping rough in Milton Keynes. Year-round, its Unity Park Station Homelessness Centre offers a welfare and advice service alongside meals, clothing, laundry and washing facilities, delivered in partnership with other local agencies. The charity is also developing a new c.10,000 sq ft "Wolverton" hub that will provide a dedicated support centre for vulnerable families, couples and individuals at risk of homelessness.

UnityMK's small team, led by a Chief Executive and Operations and Services Managers, works with people affected by mental health problems, relationship breakdown, domestic abuse, addiction, bereavement, job loss and financial hardship.

Who we support

UnityMK supports people who are rough sleeping, sofa surfing, sleeping in cars, or in temporary accommodation across Milton Keynes, alongside people needing help sustaining a tenancy.
