Housing & Homelessness

📍 Preston, Lancashire

Verified

The Foxton Centre (registered charity no. 1153080) has served the Preston community since 1969 and in 2025 opened a new, purpose-built £2 million Youth and Community Centre designed with input from young people themselves. The charity delivers three linked strands of work: youth and community services, dedicated women's services, and homeless services.

Homeless services

The Foxton Centre runs a Homeless Day Centre open five days a week providing food, showers and clothing alongside on-site partner clinics covering GP care, addiction support, mental health and podiatry; in one recent year it served over 11,000 meals to 454 unique individuals. Its "Off the Street" Accommodation, delivered with Hilldale Housing Association, is a 14-bed emergency unit that recorded over 5,000 bed-nights at 98% occupancy, while a separate Supported Housing service made up of shared houses provided over 12,000 bed-nights to 63 individuals with complex needs, mental health difficulties or substance misuse issues.

Alongside its homelessness work, The Foxton Centre's Women's Services support vulnerable women, including outreach to those involved in street sex work, and its youth and community strand delivers open-access youth work, community groups and detached outreach across Preston.

Who we support

The Foxton Centre supports rough sleepers and other homeless adults, vulnerable women, young people, families and adults with complex needs across Preston, Lancashire.
