Housing & Homelessness
📍 Tamworth, Staffordshire
Tamworth Cornerstone Housing Association (TCHA) has provided accommodation and support for young, single homeless people aged 16 to 25 in Tamworth, Staffordshire since 1984. TCHA is an Industrial and Provident Society treated as equivalent to charitable status (registration no. 26705R), is a Registered Provider of Social Housing, and is a member of the National Housing Federation.
Accommodation model
All of TCHA's services are delivered from a single site at Amington, Tamworth, staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year by trained keyworkers. Young people progress through a three-stage model: Stage 1 is a hostel room within the Intensive Support Accommodation, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities and close keyworker support; Stage 2 moves residents into a self-contained "cluster room" within the same hostel; and Stage 3 offers a one-bedroom flat on TCHA's own grounds, where the young person takes on their own utility bills as a final step toward independent living.
TCHA works within the West Midlands Regional Framework for housing 16 and 17 year olds and partners closely with Tamworth Borough Council on referrals and move-on. The organisation is governed by a Management Committee linked to St Editha's Church, Tamworth, and run day-to-day by a small keyworker team under a Chief Executive.
Who we support
TCHA's accommodation and support is aimed specifically at young, single people aged 16 to 25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the Tamworth area.
