Streets2Homes is a small, independent charity (registered charity no. 1121228) based in Harlow, Essex, dedicated to preventing and relieving homelessness across the town and the wider West Essex area. The organisation has become one of the main frontline points of contact for people sleeping rough or at risk of losing their home in Harlow, working closely with the local council, the DWP, and drug, alcohol and mental health services.
What we do
Streets2Homes runs a daily drop-in Day Centre (Monday to Friday) offering showers, clean clothing, hot meals, benefits advice and access to training and employment support, alongside cookery workshops and budgeting sessions aimed at building independent-living skills. A dedicated street outreach team engages directly with people sleeping rough, and a homelessness prevention service works with landlords and tenants to mediate disputes and resolve rent arrears before eviction happens.
The charity also runs "Step 2", a small supported accommodation project of two properties providing nine staffed bed spaces for people who are not yet ready to move straight into independent living. Step 2 is staffed seven days a week by keyworkers trained in trauma-informed care and psychologically-informed approaches, and residents receive ongoing tenancy sustainment support once they move on into their own homes.

Streets2Homes supports adults who are homeless, sleeping rough or at risk of losing their accommodation in Harlow and West Essex, including people affected by relationship breakdown, substance misuse, mental ill-health and financial hardship.
