Irwell Valley Homes is a not-for-profit housing association providing affordable homes and services to more than 20,000 people across Greater Manchester. Legally it is Irwell Valley Housing Association Limited, a charitable Community Benefit Society (registered number 20684R), with its head office at Oaklands House, 34 Washway Road, Sale, M33 6FS. It offers homes for social rent, affordable rent, market rent and shared ownership, and describes its mission as enabling people to live well in their home and community.

Accommodation and support services

Beyond general-needs housing, Irwell Valley runs an Independent and Community Living service that provides accommodation-based support for adults and young people. Its supported housing is commissioned by local authorities and includes schemes for people with dementia, mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities, young people aged 16 to 25, and people who have been homeless or experienced domestic abuse. Named services in current adverts include Greenbank in Old Trafford (a young people's supported housing scheme running early and late shifts, no sleep-ins) and MOUP in Salford, which recruits night coordinators, core coordinators and self-management coaches. The organisation says it provides over 300 places for people with additional support needs, nearly 500 homes across 12 independent-living schemes for older people, and works with more than 20 partner agencies. In the last reported year it housed 304 families and 165 individuals who had previously been homeless and helped 783 people live independently.

A community hub operates in Denton, and a £2 million charitable fund, the Irwell Valley Foundation, funds personal-development and community projects.
