Great Places Housing Group is a not-for-profit housing association headquartered in Manchester (2A Derwent Avenue, M21 7QP). It owns more than 26,000 affordable homes across over 30 local authority areas in the North West and South Yorkshire, employs around 1,000 colleagues and works from four regional offices in Manchester, Oldham, Sheffield and Blackpool. The group traces its roots to 1972 and took its current form in 2006 through the merger of Manchester Methodist Housing Association and Ashiana Housing Association. Accommodation and support services

The group is made up of Great Places Housing Association, which provides general-needs rented homes and tenancy services alongside accommodation and services that promote independence and wellbeing for vulnerable people; Plumlife, its shared-ownership and affordable home-ownership arm; and Cube, which builds homes for market sale and rent. On the support side, Great Places runs supported and independent-living schemes (one current vacancy is for a Housing and Wellbeing Assistant at Ellen Court in Radcliffe, Bury, a staffed scheme with on-site security, safeguarding and communal cleaning duties), and offers tenancy-sustainment help covering money advice, Universal Credit, employment and skills, and domestic abuse support. A welfare-concern line lets anyone raise worries about a customer's safety.

Great Places operates across Greater Manchester, Lancashire (including Blackpool), Cheshire and South Yorkshire. Its customers range from general-needs tenants and shared owners to older people and adults with support needs living in its schemes. The group describes itself as profit-for-purpose: it reinvests surpluses in community projects, and in 2024/25 delivered 726 new affordable homes.
