Who DENS Are
DENS has worked since 2003 to rebuild the lives of local people facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion in Dacorum, Hertfordshire, based around Hemel Hempstead.
Services
- A day centre and outreach/accommodation services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness
- A foodbank and welfare support, including help with benefits and Universal Credit applications
- A therapy centre and life-skills/employment support programme
- Hostel accommodation, including a scheme known as The Elms in Hemel Hempstead
Working at DENS
Roles have recently included hostel key workers and foodbank welfare co-ordinators. DENS is a Disability Confident and Real Living Wage employer, offering flexible working, a healthcare plan and a pension scheme.
