About Curo

Curo is a housing association and house-builder headquartered at The Maltings on Lower Bristol Road in Bath. It describes itself as one of the largest landlords in the South West, owning and managing more than 14,000 homes for around 28,000 residents. Curo has no paid shareholders: surpluses from its commercial house-building arm are reinvested in its social purpose, summed up as "Homes for Good". It is currently consulting customers on a proposed partnership that would see it become a subsidiary of Abri, with a decision expected towards the end of 2026.

Accommodation and support services

Alongside general needs housing, Curo runs a range of specialist housing and support services aimed at helping people live independently. These include temporary accommodation for people facing homelessness or crisis, supported accommodation for people with mental health needs, supported housing for young people (including a Housing First style service and a young parents and young persons scheme at Pathways in Bath), an Independent Living Service available across the West of England, dementia support, extra care housing, a Step Down service offering adapted apartments for people leaving hospital, and the Wellbeing House, a respite service for people in mental or emotional distress. Curo also manages leasehold retirement schemes for people over 55.

Where Curo works and who it supports

Curo is a West of England specialist, operating across eight local authority areas including Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. Its support services are aimed at homeless young people and families, older and disabled people, people affected by mental health issues or memory loss, and residents who need help sustaining a tenancy. It also supports customers into education and work through apprenticeships, training and graduate placements.
