Connexus is a community-focused rural housing association with its roots in Shropshire and Herefordshire. It owns and manages more than 10,000 affordable rented homes (cited as 10,500 to 11,000 in recent material) across the two counties and employs over 500 colleagues. Its registered office is The Gateway, The Auction Yard, Craven Arms, Shropshire, with a further office base in Wem and services delivered from sites in Hereford, Ludlow and across the region.

Accommodation and support services

Beyond general-needs housing, shared ownership and rural development, Connexus runs a care and support division that provides specialist accommodation and community-based support.

• Hereford Younger Persons Service, accommodation-based support for young people aged 16 to 25, staffed on a seven-day rota
• Ludlow Foyer, supported housing for 16 to 25 year olds
• Herefordshire housing-related floating support and mediation service, working with partners to prevent homelessness
• Supported temporary accommodation for adults aged 18 to 55 with complex needs
• A refuge and other safe accommodation for people fleeing domestic abuse
• Independent living and sheltered housing schemes for older people
• Mental health support services

Where they work and who they support

Work is spread across rural Shropshire and Herefordshire, including Craven Arms, Ludlow, Wem, Hereford, Leominster, Cleobury Mortimer and North Shropshire, with hybrid and home-working options for some office roles. The people supported include young people at risk of homelessness or leaving care, adults with complex needs in temporary accommodation, survivors of domestic abuse, older people in independent living schemes and tenants who need help to sustain a tenancy.
